Nazareth, located in the northern region of Israel, is a city rich in history and culture. It is famously known as the childhood home of Jesus Christ and is an important pilgrimage site for Christians. In addition to its religious significance, Nazareth boasts a vibrant market, delicious cuisine, and beautiful churches. In this itinerary, we will explore the best of Nazareth by visiting the bustling market, admiring stunning churches, and indulging in some of the city’s most delicious food. Get ready for a day filled with culture, history, and culinary delights.

Morning:

Start the day with breakfast at Fattoush Café or others, located in the Old City of Nazareth. This café offers a variety of traditional Arabic breakfast dishes, including hummus, labneh, and falafel.

After breakfast, head to the local market (also known as the souk) in the Old City. This bustling market is a great place to explore and shop for souvenirs, spices, and other local products.

From the market, take a short walk to the Church of the Annunciation. This is the largest Catholic church in the Middle East and is believed to be the site where the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary to tell her she would give birth to Jesus.

Lunch:

For lunch, head to Elbabour, a popular restaurant located in the heart of the Old City. This restaurant offers a variety of dishes inspired by local and Mediterranean cuisine, including hummus, shakshuka, and seafood. Other options: Rosemary, Tishreen and Avra Taverna.

Afternoon:

After lunch, take a short walk to the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, which is also believed to be the site of the Annunciation.

From there, head to St. Joseph’s Church, located in the New City of Nazareth. This church is built on the site where Joseph’s carpentry workshop is believed to have been located.

Finally, visit the Synagogue Church, located near the market in the Old City. This church is built on the site of a 1st-century synagogue where Jesus is believed to have preached.

Dinner:

For dinner, head to Tishreen, a restaurant located in the heart of the Old City. This restaurant offers a variety of dishes inspired by Syrian and Middle Eastern cuisine, including kebabs, grilled meats, and vegetarian options.

After dinner, take a leisurely stroll through the Old City to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the evening.

A new boutique hotel from the Golden Crown hotel chain in Nazareth, the Blend Hotel hotel offers 70 guest rooms just a short walk from the markets and churches of the old city center.

In the near future, guests will be able to enjoy a beautiful rooftop at the hotel.

Late Night in Eilat – Nightlife, bars and clubs

Eilat night scene keeps on the spirit of the lively, unrestrained fun that dominates the beaches, and practically anywhere else in Eilat, during the day. It seems as if the sunbathers hang out at the beach until late afternoon and then head straight to the bars and the discos to continue celebrating. Most of the nightlife spots are located around the North Beach area, along the hotels’ promenade, though some can be found by the southern beaches or in town mainly in the industrial zone (You will need a taxi ride to get there). Besides the pubs and the nightclubs, the major attraction are Eilat beaches, which serve as a buzzing location for open-air bars and wild parties, especially during the summer months.

Eilat Desert Adventures

Situated between the southern edge of the Negev Desert and the beginning of the Sinai Peninsula (and yet only 7 hours drive from the green Galilee at the north part of Israel), Eilat offers a great desert experience lapped in a Bedouin-like scene. The desert adventures available in Eilat vary from private and organized hiking, to wild jeep tours and exciting camel treks, all touring around the Eilat region. The colorful multilayered mountains and the natural beauty of the desert make it highly exhilarating traveling to fascinating sites, such as King Solomon’s Pillars, Timna Valley Park, the Red Canyon, Ein Netafim and Pillars of Amram. http://www.inisrael.com/news/?p=815 http://inisrael.com/tour/eilat/th_desert.htm
