Sarona Market has a rich history dating back to the late 19th century when it was founded as a German Templar Colony. The area underwent significant changes over the years, including a period of neglect before being transformed into the bustling market it is today. Visitors to Sarona Market can expect a sensory feast as they stroll through the colorful stalls and sample a wide variety of foods. The market is a great place to relax, socialize, and enjoy live music while indulging in delicious food. So, whether you're a local or a tourist, make sure to add Sarona Market to your list of must-visit places in Tel Aviv. As a food lover, I was excited to try Israeli cuisine for the first time during a recent trip to Tel Aviv. I visited several restaurants, including some at the Sarona Market, and was blown away by the unique flavors and ingredients used in Israeli dishes. One of my favorite dishes was shakshuka, a delicious breakfast dish made with eggs, tomatoes, onions, and spices. The flavors were so rich and complex, and I loved the way the eggs were cooked perfectly with a runny yolk. I also tried several types of hummus, each with its own unique twist, and was impressed by the freshness and quality of the ingredients used. In comparison to American restaurants, Israeli cuisine was a pleasant surprise. I found the dishes to be lighter and healthier, with more emphasis on fresh vegetables and herbs. The use of spices was also more prominent, adding an extra layer of complexity to the flavors. Overall, my experience trying Israeli restaurants for the first time was a memorable one. The unique flavors, fresh ingredients, and focus on healthy eating make Israeli cuisine a must-try for any food lover looking for something new and exciting. Hummus Saiid Acre - Old City

Hummus Saiid Acre - Old City

Whether you are visiting Old Acre for the first time or coming to it for the umpteenth time, there is one place whose name is woven into the culinary history of the city and wins praise and hot reviews time and time again - Hummus Saiid in the Old Market in the Old City. Saiid's hummus is considered the best-known hummus in Acre and represents the city time and time again in the parades of the best Israeli hummus, as it is often awarded the coveted title - the best hummus in Israel. At the entrance to "Hummus Saiid" you will usually meet in line. Sometimes it is short and sometimes it is long and continuous, depending on when you arrive to eat. Some people are waiting for the simple but soft, tender and meticulous portion of the place and others swear they will not give up on the brew, which is a sour and spicy bean mixture served on the spot, alongside the chickpeas and felt. The restaurant is very simple so every time you can be surprised by the excellent level of hummus, the service is fast and efficient and it is definitely worth the wait. Real fun and highly recommended. Alongside the chickpeas, there are hot and soft pitas that accurately absorb the fresh chickpea mixture, a stew that has bought itself quite a few fans and olive oil that adorns all the dishes and comes from Saiid's own cloth house. No wonder Saiid's hummus has been chosen in recent years as the first place on the list of the best hummus in Israel. Address: The Old city Market, Acre
