In addition, custom-designed tours can be arranged for groups of 10-150 people, for tour length of one
day to one month.

All equipment and techical support for all tours is provided by Walkways and included in the cost of the tour. Walkways are very flexible; tours can be arranged to accommodate a wide range of age groups and
fitness levels ranging from beginners to experienced bikers/hikers.



SOME SAMPLE ITINERARIES:
1. 15 days: Israel /Jordan


Day 1 Arrival and transfer to hotel by Sea of Galilee; spend the rest of the day settling in and fitting bikes.

Day 2 Cycle around the Sea of Galilee to visit  Biblical sites and places of interest--60 Km cycling, flat terrain.

Day 3
Cycle along the Jordan river to the border crossing with Jordan, cross the border and cycle on to Pella for O/N; 70 Km, some hills O/N in sleeping bags in Pella.

Day 4 Cycle along the Jordanian Water Canal through farming areas; ending at the Dead Sea Rest House, for overnight. This will give us the rest of the day for swimming in the salty water of the Dead Sea. 96 Km,on road.

Day 5 Cycle along the Dead Sea 60 Km flat to the Karak Junction, from there,24 Km up hill from -400m to + 800m--this is a real challenging climb--tohe ancient Crusader City of Kerek, which is today a thriving market city in South Jordan. After a visit to the Crusader Castle, we
will continue there bus transfer to Petra O/N Petra . 90Km ,on road

Day 6 Day visit in Petra, O/N Petra

Day 7 Cycle 15 Km up hill to Rajef, a small town where we can find the palace of King Hussein's brother--Prince Hassan-- and from there 40 Km down to Houmema --this will be part off road;O/N Houmema in tents. Houmema is an ancient Nabatian city in the middle of the desert, that stood on the carvan route from the port city of Aqaba, to Petra, and from there to Damascus.

Day 8 Cycle along the desert and wilderness of South Jordan and Wadi Rum, 70
Km.;O/N camping Wadi Rum

Day 9 Continue cycling in Wadi Rum ending in Aqaba, 60Km , half is off road.

Day 10 A days rest in Aqaba, on the Red Sea, where we can enjoy water sports, like diving, swimming, wind surfing, and boating.

Day 11Cross the border to Eilat and bus transfer to Jerusalem. From here we can have one day free in Jerusalem and one day touring.

Day 12 Touring in Jerusalem

Day 13 Transfer to Air Port.


2. Five day program -- Judean desert

Day 1 Arriving in the late afternoon to the Hotel in Ein Gidi, after a visit to Jericho and Qumran, the rest of the day we will spend by the Dead Sea.

Day 2 A short walk to the Field School, where we will visit the exhibition on animal and desert life of the Judean Desert. From there we will climb up to Mt Yishsi( 2.5 hour climb) and we will stop there for a splendid view of the Dead Sea, and the Judean Desert. From there we will walk down in the direction of Nahal David, stop for a swim in the upper water fall, and go on from there to visit the ancient synagogues of Ein Gedi. Stop for lunch, and return to the kibbutz for over night.

Day 3 Walk from the kibbutz up Nahal Arogot, stop for a swim in the water-fall, climb up from there to the Desert Plateau( from -262m to +216m) walk from there along Nahal Avishi, to Nahal Mishmar, and down in to the Wadi, and to the road where a vehicle will transport us to the kibbutz. 5 hours hiking today.

Day 4 Drive south ,on road, to Nahal Zellim, 20 min. Start walking east up the Nahal, ( in spring we can stop for swimming) till we reach the imb and visit the site, descend down by foot or cable car. Bus will take us back to kibbutz. Day 5 By bus to Mizpeh Shalem, and from there to the entrance of Nahal Deragot, spend the rest of the day walking through water in Nahal Deragot, at end of day vehicle will take us back to kibbutz or airport.


3. 5  DAY CYCLING TOUR: NEGEV DESERT-EILAT

DAY 1: Arrive Kibbutz Mashebei Sadeh, 40 km south of Beer Sheva, the capital of the Negev. O/N in Kibbutz Guest House

DAY 2: Cycle to Sde Boker, kibbutz where David Ben-Gurion, Israel's first prime minister lived. From here to Oasis of Ein Akev. Swim and cycle on road to Mitzpe Ramon. O/N 4 star hotel, Mitzpe Ramon

DAY 3: Whole day cyclingn Ramon Crater. O/N in Bedouin tent at Be'erot.

DAY 4: Cycle to Bedouin village of Shacherut, 73 km on road. O/N in village

DAY 5: Cycle off road to Park Timna, site of King Solomon's copper mines.  Cycle tour of Park Timna and continue via the copper mines to Eilat. O/N 4 star hotel in Eilat


4. SIX DAY HIKE IN JORDAN: WADI RUM TO PETRA

DAY 1: Walk from Yatem junction inside Wadi Rum to the foot of Jabel Rum, 6 hours walking , mainly on sand. O/N here at foot of Jabel Rum

DAY 2: Walk through Wadi Rum to Jabel Lawrence, the Seven Pillars of Wisdom of Lawrence of Arabia. O/N here.

DAY 3: Walk to Houmema and on to Wadi Hillwa. O/N here.

DAY 4: Walk from Wadi Hillwa to foot of Um Massuda. O/N here.

DAY 5: Walk from Um Massuda, through Wadi Rashrish and Wadi Sabra(Petra) to Wadi Niaze. O/N here.

DAY 6: Walk into Petra, tour site and transfer by bus to Eilat and tour end.
