History:
This holiday idyll is also of historical importance with the
ongoing excavation of the ancient port town of Dora a short
walk away. The archaeological adventure is echoed beneath the
seas in Dor Bay where shipwrecks, weaponry and even treasure
troves of the Phoenicians, Hellenists, Egyptians and Napoleon
Bonaparte have been found. |

Much of these fascinating findings are on display in the Mizgaga
Museum, the Centre of Nautical and Regional Archaeology housed
in the defunct glass factory built by Baron de Rothschild in
1893 on next door Kibbutz Nahsholim. |
